I know this video is quite old, but I've been looking at security deterrents, as just purchased a high value performance vehicle which I'm collecting next week. Although it comes with factory fitted security system and tracker, I have it booked in for a Ghost 2 install the day after I collect it. I've also asked the Dealer if they can code-out and disable the keyless entry before I collect it (I don't mind having to push a button to lock / unlock the car). However, all that digital security is ok, but as a visual / physical deterrent, I've been looking at Stoplock Pro (for quick convenience when out and about) and Disklok (for when parked on my drive over night). Regarding the Disklok, there is a new version that I went with (Disklok Diamond Edition), which has more Diamonite in it, which is supposed to greatly reduce the ability of grinder attacks. This video of it looks quite compelling ( disklokuk.co.uk/product/disklok-diamond-edition/#diamonite ). It would be really useful to see how this new Disklok version stands up to attacks, as the only weak spot in the older version was against a grinder, and if that's now been improved on, then this should be well worth the purchase. I'm also looking at getting an automatic security bollard for the driveway, to increase the deterrent. Such a shame we have to go to these lengths to protect our purchases.

Absolute rubbish! Nyloc nuts should not be used in high-temperature places such as on engines where temperatures exceed about 100°C. These applications require all-metal stiffnuts. In safety-critical applications, slotted or castellated nuts secured with a split-pin, plain nuts with a tab-washer or drilled and locked with locking-wire should be used. For nuts that need to be removed for maintenance, a slotted or castellated nut can be used and secured with a reusable "nappy pin" type clip All stiff or self-locking nuts may be used indefinitely provided they meet the minimum torque requirements for their size, but a general guide is that if they can be tightened by finger force only they should be discarded and replaced. Security does work it takes more devices, back in the day most cars in the max power / revs / fast car / fast ford magazines had a disklok, cat 1 alarm & immobiliser which cuts any 2 circuits aka ignition / starter, a 2nd cat 2 immobiliser, so thats 4 circuits cut, it would take hours to remove and bypass, the number 1 alarm of choice was clifford with their smart siren which when hidden would be extremely hard to silence, clifford also did a wireless immobiliser add on which is hidden and connected to any circuit, making it hard to disable as it's not wired to the main control box. All of the above doesn't stop a low loader but if you have a tracking device or a pager wired to your alarm your alerted to an attempted theft you maybe able to save your car. Nothings 100% fool proof, but it's about making it as hard as possible to steal. Under what conditions is an angle grinder going to be used ? outside your house at 2 am ??? On a busy supermarket car park ? i think not !

Exactly! 😂 We have a Disklok. On a convertible Merc. We also have a dog. This is what usually happens (about every 6 weeks,East London UK) : Thief enters our driveway and peers into our car. Security light switches on/ our dog goes ballistic ( not necessarily in that order) Thief leaves. This happens at least once every 6 weeks, all recorded on video. You could ask yourself whether it’s the Disklok or dog that deters.. either way, I’m cool. I still have my car.

I'm amazed at all the folks calling to remove the video. Are you stupid? Anyone knows that anything can be cut with an angle grinder. If your thief goes around with an angle grinder, he doesn't need this video. This video gives you an idea which security is better than others - while none of them are ever 100% stealproof.
